How to fit a Mandy Mac nappy on your child

Fitting a small baby
1. Place baby on open nappy.
You need to place the nappy so that it covers the small of the baby's back. This will ensure that you don't end up with explosive newborn poo escaping out the top of the nappy. This model is a 3.2 kilogram two day old.

2. Place front of nappy on tummy.
Don't worry, we won't be covering the belly button.

3. Fold down the front.
This is lower the rise and to ensure we don't cover the cord while it is still attached or whilst it is healing.

4. Wrap the wings comfortably.
This has been wrapped loosely. If your baby is prone to explosive poos, gushing wees or is not going to wear a cover then you may want to wrap slightly firmer.

5. Tuck in second wing
This is a no snappi option for newborns. Once they start to wriggle around you will find you do need the snappi.

6. Or - Attach snappi
A right handed person will hold the nappy in place with the left hand. Begin with the left prong by pushing it firmly into the fabric at a slight angle. Pull firmly and now attach the right prong. Now hold the side prongs in place with the left hand and use the right hand to attach the middle prong. Voila! Snappi is attached! Left handers will probably feel more comfortable doing things visa versa.

Fitting a larger child
1. Place child on open nappy.
You need to place the nappy so that it covers the small of the child's back. This will ensure that you don't end up with too little height at the back, resulting in "plumber's crack." This model is a 15 kilogram three year old.

2. Pull the booster out a couple of inches.
If you have a tall child - you can pull the booster out a few inches - this is a "cheating" method of getting extra rise out of the nappy. It will probably not be necessary on a shorter child.

3. Fold in sides.
This is merely to prevent unsightly "droop" that can occur when using the nappy on a taller child. If the sight does not bother you then this step is not necessary.
